The area of the Bay of Fires in Tasmania, is characterized by its white sand beaches, turquoise water and granite rocks. The bay was named by Captain Tobias Furneaux in 1773, referring to the many wood fires lit by Aborigines on the shore. The region includes thirty kilometers of coastline, dotted with white sand beaches more beautiful than the other. The four-day hike in the Bay of Fires to discover the strengths of Tasmania's finest culinary specialties, cool-climate wines and unspoiled natural landscapes. Hikers are housed in permanent camps along the route and spend the last night in the exclusive Bay of Fires Lodge. The hikes are organized from October to May.
